SIX ALTERNATIVES TO TINDER:

It’s 2015; there is an endless world of apps, add-ons and widgets. And there seems to be an ever growing list of apps specifically designed for “dating”.

There used to be a taboo around the act of internet dating. Remember RSVP, Plenty of Fish, EHarmony? There was a taboo around online dating, until the arrival of Tinder.

Tinder has removed the stigma that surrounds turning online conversations with a stranger into real life romance… the service allows you to see mutual connections, mutual interests and even allows users to link up their Instagram’s to their profiles.

It’s been a while since the launch of Tinder, and many users now complain that the service is over-run with “bots”, “creeps” and many fake profiles… and internet dating is so common these day’s that we seem to be doing it on the go! So we thought we’d take it upon ourselves here at Adult Press to educate you with some alternatives to Tinder!

DOWN:
Down is the most honest dating app available to meet locals nearby – it lets you pick whether you want a casual or serious relationship simply by giving the options Get a Date or Get Down!

HAPPN:
Happn is a dating application that allows you to connect with people you have walked past on the street or crossed paths with at a location, by showing matches within a 250 meter radius – meeting up should be a breeze. Convenient and effective.

HINGE:
Hinge is a dating application that uses your common connections and social media presence to connect you with friends of friends. The tag line being “meet someone through friends you trust”, Hinge is all about eliminating that match-making middle man.

GRINDR:
Grindr is much alike Tinder, but for those from the LGBT community. It is very effective, easy to use, and the people within this application seem to be a little less shy about the meet up too! 😉

HOW ABOUT WE:
How About We is a dating application that instead prompts you to describe the dates you would go on rather than describe yourself. This is one for the grown ups, as it seems the kind of dating application where polite conversation takes heed over inappropriate lunges or punch line descriptions.

BRISTLR:
Bristlr is a quirky turn from Tinder. Bristlr is essentially Tinder for the bearded man. The tagline for this application is  “Connecting those with beards, to those who want to stroke beards”. There are over 85,000 people using the beard lover matching application…
